Why do I paint pets?

Because pet paintings make people feel good. There is no other subject matter that brings as much joy, delight, and comfort to others. I consider it such a privilege to be able to create meaningful and lasting memories for pet parents.

Who am I?

I’m Alex (she/her/hers), and I paint pets. (I also paint people, places and other things.)

Proud to live, love, and paint in Chicago.

Other things I am: Adoring cat mom to two tabby sisters named Beezus and Ramona. Rabid seashell collector. Relentlessly amateur pianist. Lover of Greek food and Masterpiece Mysteries. Suffering from permanent wanderlust yet ever-longing for the swamps and beaches of my native New Jersey.

I hold an M.A. in Museum Studies from the University of Washington, and a B.A. in Art History from Rutgers University.
